Asiya strikes at Sligo again
Leigh Roche gained a memorable win at his local meet, the Galway Festival for Dermot Weld this year aboard Easy Mate and the youngster struck in the West again when landing Asiya a two length winner of the concluding September 30th At Sligo Handicap for Norman Cassidy.
The successful Dilshaan four-year-old gained her only previous success also at Sligo, in August of 2009, and here she led a furlong out before going on to eclipse Leah Claire
Winning trainer Cassidy, based in Celbridge, said: "She'll go for the Lartigue Hurdle at Listowel. We hope she gets into the handicap. She is as honest as the day is long and deserved it having gone up 5Ib for finishing second twice."
