The Henry de Bromhead-trained Allbarone dug deep in the closing stages to grind out victory in the three-mile handicap hurdle at Limerick this afternoon.
Rachael Blackmore settled behind the leaders on the September Storm gelding before taking closer order on the top bend.
He came under pressure before the second last but stuck to his task well in the closing stages.
The 8/1 shot stayed on to join Classic Concorde and Young Dev over the final flight and battled well on the run-in to post a half length victory over the later.
Allbarone had chased home Buck Rogers winner of the previous race on the card, at Wexford in October and was making his first start in handicap company today.
Blackmore said afterwards:- "It's very tough for all of them out there and he battled well to the line.
"He also got a bit of a form boost in the previous race with Buck Rogers winning.”
