Alainn gets up late to score
Grange Alainn swooped late to deny The Flying Dustman in the three-mile handicap hurdle at Gowran Park.
Paul Townend 's mount looked to have plenty to do when blundering at the last but stayed on gamely on the run-in to get up in the closing stages.
"It's nice to get a winner. It was tough but he won a point-to-point in those conditions," said trainer Liam Burke.
"I thought he was a bit far back when they quickened and he made a mess of the last but he just stayed galloping.
"He's from a good family. The owner has had no luck with horses over the years and that's his first real bit of luck."
