Abu scores for Quigley
Portlaoise handler Mark Quigley saddled a welcome winner when Mullagh Abu ran out a game victor of the Anglo Printers Handicap Hurdle at Downpatrick.
John Cullen produced the mare to lead at the second last and she had to knuckle down on the run-in to hold the renewed challenge of Home Island by a length-and-a-half.
"She's a top of the ground horse. She could run again at Cork next Friday," said Quigley.
The trainer was recording his fourth winner and his first since Maid Ofiron scored at Bellewstown in August 2006.
