74 to 1 Curragh double for Lyons

Brendan Brackan (10s this morning into 13/2) took the Glanbia Handicap in style under Emmet McNamara (lost his 3Ib claim last night) to complete a 74/1 double for Ger Lyons at the Curragh.
Earlier on the mark with Pearl Music in the maiden, Lyons has much to look forward to as evidenced by Brendan Brackan's three and a half length victory in the mile handicap. He led a furlong and a half out before going on to slam Elusive In Paris
Lyons said: "He's a typical Big Bad Bob. He's like everything they (Anamoine Limited) ever sent us. He's mentally immature and he'll be a better four-year-old.
"We ran him over a mile and two at Dundalk and it's the only trip at Dundalk that I worry about the draw. When you're drawn high you're in trouble.
"You have to take your time and he just couldn't get into the race but he ran a cracker (6th).
"I said to Mrs Patino's racing manager, Patrick Cooper, that I was a bit sorry we left the Cambridgeshire behind but we couldn't go there because of the heavy ground.
"To win this is grand but I'm a bit disappointed with the prize-money for a race of this calibre (over 13K to the winner)." (GC & EM)
