Mouse Morris successful earlier in the week with Rathlin (blinkers re-applied), scored with his other runner too when Bruff (14s into 5s) landed a gamble in the Guinness Galway Blazers Handicap Chase under Niall 'Slippers' Madden.
There was shades of the Galway Plate here (a J P McManus 1,2,3) as Bruff ultimately slammed the other one in the famous green and gold, Ballyburke by six lengths. Another well punted runner, Murchu took the third spot.
Madden, second in the Plate on Quantativeeasing, divulged: "It's been a lucky race for me following on from wins on Half Barrell and Wins Now. This fella travelled well and jumped great.
"I was always happy and if every race panned out like that it would be great."
Frank Berry, racing manager to McManus stated: "Slippers gave him a grand ride and he jumped away well. He didn't mind the ground and the blinkers helped." (TW & EM)
