Angelo Dundee was punted from 40/1 during the day and his backers joined the pay-out queue when he took the concluding bumper at Punchestown under Dara McGill.
The grey son of Authorized began to make headway from mid-division at the three pole and cut through to move into contention in the home straight.
He was delivered between horses to lead a furlong and a half down and was soon ridden to go and win his race.
The 10/1 shot was kept up to his work to beat Williethebuilder (16/1) by a length and a quarter. Joyeux Vivo was four lengths adrift in third at 7/1.
Trainer Dermot McLoughlin said: “He’s a nice horse and will improve.
“He came alive about four furlongs out, but he quickened well and is a lovely horse going forward. He’s sharp.
“If we can keep him in for a bit of experience we will, but we’ll see what they want to do.
“Angelo Dundee was Muhammad Ali’s coach and Mr Conway said to me that they had to talk to Muhammad Ali’s family to get it cleared.”
