King Vuvuzela looked a nice prospect when running out an impressive winner of the concluding bumper at Punchestown.
Barry O'Neill produced his mount to lead turning for home and he galloped on strongly in the closing stages.
The Paul Nolan-trained newcomer, sent off a 25/1 shot, strode clear inside the final furlong to post a five-length winning margin over 11/2 favourite Morning Royalty
"We really liked this horse. The one thing about him is that he jumps brilliant," said Nolan.
"We were going to let him out with the ground turning fast. He has done plenty of work at home on soft and has never let us down at home.
"There is nothing flashy about him but he is a very solid worker. He could make up into a lovely hurdler next season."
The winner is out of a half-sister to Grand National winner Comply Or Die.
