Jasmin De Vaux to prevail again
Things came together nicely for JASMIN DE VAUX in the Albert Bartlett at Cheltenham last month, with the 2024 Champion Bumper winner seemingly relishing the step up in trip to three-miles under a patient Paul Townend ride.
Held up at the rear of the field, Townend's partner made the smoothest of headway to challenge for the lead and hit the front jumping the last before powering home to beat Henry De Bromhead's mare The Big Westerner and top UK prospect Derryhassen Paddy in good style.
This race doesn't look as deep on paper, with Gordon Elliott's Aintree winner Honesty Policy perhaps being the key danger. He will have to step up once more on the form shown on Merseyside, whilst also proving his stamina. All things considered, Jasmin De Vaux could be a good bit better than these rivals.

Gold Cup set up for Galopin Des Champs
He has twice finished second in this race behind Fastorslow but all now looks set for GALOPIN DES CHAMPS to prevail.
His Punchestown torturer is absent this time around and a field of three rivals all have something to prove.
Banbridge won the King George at Christmas but proved no threat in last month's Cheltenham Gold Cup, where Monty's Star (fourth) finished clear of him.
Galopin Des Champs was no match for Inothewayurthinkin at the finish in the Cotswolds but was a long way clear of everything else in second spot in a race where he never quite looked at ease on faster ground. Conditions here look optimal and he may dominate in front, tactics that have served him well before.
Spillane's Tower is a live danger and the youngest horse in the line-up still has a bright future, but with just two runs this season, none since St Stephen's Day at Kempton, Jimmy Mangan's star lacks match practice.
Twomey's mare to bag another prize
Paddy Twomey enjoyed a rare Aintree winner with SEO LINN four weeks ago as his daughter of Order Of St George took out the Grade 2 Goffs Nickel Coin Mares' bumper on Merseyside.
She was well-backed for that contest and did her job in good fashion. She travelled smoothly and got to the lead going well, while she had no issues digging in when challenged and the stamina influences in her pedigree bode well.
Her Tipperary-based handler wants to be targeting some good stayers' contests on the Flat this summer but has elected to stop here en route. She sets the standard and should be good enough to see off recent Leopardstown scorer Good Girl Kathleen from the Emmet Mullins string.
