Double for Hayes at Galway Chris Hayes doubled up at Galway on board Kevin Prendergast’s Aegean Sky in the mile and a half fillies maiden. The pair went off at an SP of 2/1, backed in from 11/4 on course and held 4/6 favourite Supernovae who got going too late up the hill by half a length. The favourite, representing Dermot Weld and Leigh Roche, was easy to back from 4/7. “She’s tough and hated the ground. It was tacky and holding,” Chris Hayes said. “She had a great run last day at Tipperary [second in an extended mile and a half maiden on 24 July]. It’s great to get a winning bracket with her."
