Wrote in front where it matters
The juvenile mile maiden at Cork produced a terrific finish with Wrote just edging the verdict after a tight photo finish. Alkazim was prominent throughout, under Billy Lee, and hit the front early in the straight.
2/1 favourite Wrote came with a challenge over a furlong from home and pressed his rival hard inside the closing stages.
The pair flashed past the post locked together and it was revealed the Ballydoyle runner just got his head in front at the right time under Joseph O'Brien.
"They went very slow and it didn't really suit him but he picked up well to win," said O'Brien junior afterwards.
The winning rider put up 2lb overweight. It was the second winner of the night for trainer Aidan O'Brien after a few disappointing performances by inmates last week.
