Wings swoops late for Cullen
John Cullen, a regular overcoat and woolly hat-wearing morning jogger at Irish racecourses, benefited from the fruits of his hard work when partnering his second winner in two days at the Listowel Festival, when winning on Kevin O'Brien's On Borrowed Wings in the Bank Of Ireland Maiden Hurdle.
Cullen produced the son of Quws to lead on the run-in for a neck win over Ballyvoile
Afterwards trainer O'Brien reported “On Borrowed Wings is a nice horse who was always going to benefit from going hurdling. He was unlucky not to have won two bumpers and may now run again in a novice hurdle here on Friday.”
