Dushrembrandt without success since landing a Cork novice hurdle in October 2012, got off the mark over fences when finishing off well for victory under Phillip Enright in the Roscommon On-Course Vets Handicap Chase.
A two time point-to-point winning half-brother to the dual Gold Cup placed Sir Rembrandt, the Robert Tyner-trained Dushrembrandt headed the betting here on the back of a promising return to action at Galway earlier in the month.
In the end he got the better of the front-running Fever Pitch by two and three parts of a length.
"It was a low grade of a contest and he was all out at the end to win it. If the handicapper isn't too hard on him he might pick up another one at that grade. He will get further but he travels well enough for two and a half. A stiffer track might suit him a bit better," reflected Enright. (DM & EM)
