"I was a bit worried coming back so quick and was hoping he wouldn't suffer the 'bounce.' The ground was so safe that we felt we had to run," said Tom Mullins after Spider Web added to his Ballinrobe gains to bring up a double for the Doninga handler at Tipperary.
Mullins and J P McManus took both divides of this Ryans Cleaning Event Specialists Handicap Hurdle as Scoir Mear did the needful thirty five minutes earlier under Barry Geraghty.
The heavily invested upon Spider Web (returned 6/4, as high as 9/2 advertised earlier) wasn't always fluent under Mark Walsh but in the end he comfortably beat Moorhill Lad by two and a quarter lengths.
"He'll probably be left out in the first week of June but he might run in another handicap before then. We'll see what the weather does," further explained Mullins.
D.N. Russell, rider of Mick The Boyo trained by James Grace, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount got very tired.
