Un Atout another asset for team Mullins
Un Atout which means 'An Asset' when translated from French, certainly is that to connections as he ran out a very easy winner of the bumper at Naas this afternoon.
Trained by Willie Mullins and ridden by his son Patrick the son of Robin Des Champs disputed the lead before going clear two furlongs out.
He stayed on well from there to record a very easy twenty four length win from Emily O back in second at 12/1 for her trainer George Kingston with Noel McParlan aboard.
Un Atout and the Dermot Weld trained Silver Concorde had being vying for favouritism this morning but when that fellow was taken out the winner dominated the betting and was sent to post the 2/7 favourite.
Winning trainer Willie Mullins said afterwards: "He looks like a racehorse. We will try and win another bumper with him now, maybe two, before we put him away and bring him back next season to go hurdling.
"He is a cool customer, very relaxed and that will help him in his racing career.
"He jumps well at home and we are looking forward to going jumping with him next season."
Mullins was of course completing a double on the card after the win of Hats And Heels and it was his fourth winner of the weekend following on from his double at Thurles yesterday afternoon.
