One might have expected Times In Anatefka to head the betting in the Crowne Plaza Hotel Race & Stay Handicap, on the back of her win here at Dundalk twelve days ago. The daughter of Pyrus eventually went off 4/1 'second-in' but she still got the job done under Chris Hayes.
The one they liked most from early in the day was 11/4 market-leader Mr Bounty but he had to settle for fourth as Times In Anatefka got to the front-running Cottrell and beat him by a short head. Acroleina didn't get much room on the rail. She had to be switched around the front pair and ended up a length and a quarter off in third.
"Chris thought the six furlongs would suit her no problem. She came out of her last race really well, mentally and everything," said winning trainer Adrian Joyce.
"She should have won off 54 last year but just didn't get her chance. She's improving all the time and please god she can win again.
"We should have probably let her off in front there as she found it hard getting past the other horse. When horses come at her she is a lot better."
L.F.Roche, rider of Ftstepsinthebrogue trained by Garvan Donnelly, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung right in the straight.
