Third Time Lucky for Cornakill
Cornakill made it third time lucky in the Fonacab 90 33 33 33 Auction Maiden, getting the better of her main market rival, Bada Bling by a length and a half under Declan McDonogh.
With an auction price of 800 Euros (knocked down to the vendor at Tattersalls Ireland in December 2008) the daughter of Stormin Fever had the lowest purchase figure of any of the ten strong field.
Despite drifting from 2/1 out to 3/1, the American-bred showed a good attitude to outpoint the favourite. Winning trainer, Kevin Prendergast has been doing well with his juvenile fillies this term, Termagant and Velvet Flicker being two others of the fairer sex to emerge victorious from Friarstown.
Keagan Latham lost his whip about a furlong out on Bada Bling.
