Tempo takes honours after drama
Blazing Tempo emerged on top after an incident packed TA Morris Memorial Mares Chase at Clonmel.
Ruby Walsh 's mount looked to have lost all chance, in the Grade 3 event, after being badly hampered at the second last by the fall of front-runner Our Victoria
But the drama continued at the final fence as 6/4 favourite Shop Dj who had been left in the lead two out, crashed out and brought down nearest pursuer Definite Class
Blazing Tempo inherited a narrow lead from Gentle Alice and stayed on strongly on the run-in to score by three-and-a-half lengths. For Bill also hampered at the second last when beaten, was back in third while Shop Dj remounted to claim fourth place prize money.
The winner was making a quick reppearance having been third behind the impressive Kauto Stone at Down Royal last Saturday.
"I thought coming down the hill that the last race had taken it out of her," said winning trainer Willie Mullins.
"But she got back into contention and obviously everyone saw what happened after.
"There isn't a lot of races to run her in at the moment and that's why she ran again so quickly.
"Last Saturday was the plan but she got compensation today."
