Busy filly Take My Hand looks set to continue racing through the winter months, following a first all-weather win in Dundalk's Irishinjuredjockeys.com Apprentice Handicap (div I) today, scoring for trainer Mick Mulvany and jockey Wesley Joyce.
Homebred and by Mulvany's stallion Tough As Nails, the four year old has raced every month since March and today, on her 19th run of 2021, made all the running to record a fourth career success.
Afterwards Mulvany reported “I have to thank Ben Coen (jockey) for that one, as after the last day I was going to give her a break. I thought she might not handle the surface but he said that she got boxed in and to definitely run her back.
“She didn’t get in last week but got in today and the handicapper has dropped her a bit and given her a chance.
“The plan today was jump out and make all. She was having problems in the stalls - she doesn’t mind going in but gets worked up when she’s standing in them.
“She’s a good servant and goes on all surfaces — she's a good solid little mare. It’s been a while since we had a winner here and she’ll come back here again.”
