Stormy Tale swooped inside the final furlong to record a double on the card for Mick Mulvany at Sligo this evening.
Gary Carroll 's mount had to overcome trouble in running in the three-year-old handicap, over just shy of seven furlongs.
The Stormy River filly was held up before making ground up turning for home. She was bumped by Eadbhard early in the straight but soon recovered.
Carroll got a good tune from his mount inside the final furlong as she chased down Bracebridge Hall to record a three-parts-of-a-length win at odds of 4/1.
The winner had chased home Rockfish on her return to action at Cork just four days ago.
Mulvany said:- “That’s my first ever double. They are all running well for us and we had three seconds at Navan last Saturday and six seconds in all over the last ten days.
“It’s always been a lucky track for us, and we had our first two-year-old winner here.
“Coming back in trip was a little bit of a worry, and Gary said she nearly got knocked over coming off the home bend but she kept going well.
“She seems to handle most surfaces and she is a small handy little filly so hopefully she can keep going.”
