Smokey on fire at Cork
Smokey Joe Joe bounced back to form with an impressive front-running performance in the novice handicap hurdle at Cork.
Tom Doyle always had the gelding handy and he hit the front after a few hurdles.
Kieran Purcell 's charge stayed on strongly down the straight to post a four-length winning margin over Last Time D'albain
The winner had been pulled up on his last start in good company behind Hidden Cyclone but showed his true worth today.
"I don't know where we'll go next. He keeps improving and it would be nice to have another one like him," said Purcell.
"He'll go over fences in time and is a great jumper."
