Sesenta impresses at Listowel
The feature race of the day The Listowel Races Supporters Club Lartigue Hurdle was won by 100/30 favourite of Willie Mullins Sesenta with champion jockey Ruby Walsh doing the steering for owner Michael Carroll.
Walsh raced his mount in mid-division, made headway approaching 3 out, led before 2 out and stayed on well to win by an impressive 6 lengths holding off the late efforts of Eric McNamara's Perfect Reward
Willie Mullins said afterwards, "I will probably run her on the flat next maybe in The November Handicap at Leopardstown. The Cesarewitch at The Curragh may come a bit too soon as that race probably took a lot out of her. She's very small at 15.2 and she's probably weighted out over hurdles now."
