Old Castletown stuck on gamely to prevail after a good tussle with Knockraha Prince in the Eamon Kearns 50th Birthday Handicap Chase at Clonmel.
Ruby Walsh, completing a double on the card after the opening race victory of Eyes Of A Tiger made the running on the 15/8 favourite, trained by his father Ted.
Knockraha Prince was on his tail throughout and the pair settled down to battle it out in the straight in the 2m2f event.
Old Castletown stuck on gamely to hold his rival and record a length-and-a-half success.
"He's a great leaper and would be a great horse if they held these 0-95 races at tracks like Fairyhouse, Punchestown or Navan," said Ted Walsh afterwards.
"Unfortunately they don't but if he's ok and no rain comes, he's in at Tipperary on Tuesday and Tramore on Thursday and will run in one of them."
