Rose blooms for Collins
Ashton Rose gained reward for her consistency when opening her account in the second division of the 47-60 mile handicap at Dundalk.
Tracey Collins' charge had been placed four times this season but made no mistake this time as she ran out a convincing winner.
Ronan Whelan sent the daughter of Intikhab to the front two furlongs from home and she galloped on strongly in the closing stages.
4/1 joint favourite Grainne Whale came through to give chase but could only get within two-and-a-quarter lengths at the line.
"She's been very consistent and I'm delighted to get the win for owner Tony Murphy," said Collins.
"Ronan gave her a super ride from an awful draw. I'll bring her back here for a winter campaign."
