"That's my first winner here and it was the only track that I hadn't trained a winner at," declared Harry Rogers after Acroleina had carried home Shane Foley in front, by two and a half lengths, in the second at Laytown, the Balmarino Handicap.
"I have her two months (previously with Jane Foley) and she had good form before I got her," added Rogers.
He'd just watched his 3/1 favourite come through from mid-division, to lead a furlong out, after being switched right under two furlongs out.
Acroleina went on to comfortably account for Enigma Code by two and a half lengths.
"She's been unlucky on her last three or four runs, and was very unlucky in Naas. I'd say she would have won that day but she's got one now," further reflected Rogers.
"Dundalk during the winter will be the job for her."
