Kevin Prendergast and Chris Hayes are busy tidying up loose ends before the end of the year. Their Cottrell shed his maiden tag on outing number twelve here on Wednesday night and on this programme it was the turn of the ten times previously tried Danseur De Feu in division two of the Dundalk Stadium – Light Up Your Night Handicap.
The Norman Ormiston owned and bred three-year-old beat the veteran Mountain Coral by a length and three parts with half a length to the favourite Misty Lane whilst Missile Command (bidding to give trainer Jane Foley a double) finished fourth.
Hayes remarked: "That's great, especially since he bred her. The boss always said that's her trip though I thought she wanted further. He was right again.
"Everything went to plan and she galloped right to the line. If the handicapper isn't too hard on her now she might have another day up here."
Niall Moran, trainer of Nine Bean Rows reported to the Clerk of Scales that his charge ran flat.
