Peshkova gained valuable winning brackets with a convincing success in the opener at Dundalk this afternoon.
The Willie McCreery-trained filly had finished runner-up on her most recent outing at Navan and went one better in the five-furlong contest today.
Declan McDonogh produced the 7/4 shot to claim front-runner Sky Moon over a furlong from home and she ran on well in the closing stages to post a two-and-three-quarter length win. Sabrina Fairchild kept on to claim the runner-up spot.
“She's a nice filly but she's just had little hold ups all year,” said McCreery.
“She liked the surface. She ran well in Cork on good ground in the middle of summer and ran a lovely race in Navan the other day when she was finishing off with a view to coming here.
“We said then 'if she wins she wins but if not we'll come here anyway'. It worked out.
“She's in on Friday night again in a 45-65, she might be out of that category after today so we'll have a look at that.
“She's also in the sales at the end of the year so we'll see what happens.
“She did that nicely and she's a nice filly with a good pedigree. Five wouldn't be her ideal trip, I'd say six or seven would be her ideal trip.
“It's good to win a maiden with a filly with her breeding.”
Peshkova, by Shamardal, is out of the French Group 3 winner Walkamia, who was also second in Group 1 company.
