The Harry Kelly-trained Que Pasa survived a stewards enquiry to make a winning debut over timber in the two-mile maiden hurdle at Down Royal.

Davy Condon produced his charge to claim front-runner Bob Le Beau at the final flight.

She was starting to get on top on the run-in when squeezing up that rival as they met the running rail.

The stewards had a look but decided to let the result stand with the 11/2 winner recording a two-and-three-quarter length margin at the line.

Que Pasa had been well beaten on her return in a Punchestown bumper but had some smart form last November having won at Cork and being placed in Listed company at Navan.

“We really fancied her today. She showed plenty of form in two bumpers. Today was the plan and it worked out,” said Kelly.

“She can be a bit free so the plan was to hold her up and in one of her bumpers she was dropped right out.”

He added in relation to the enquiry:- “Hopefully we're still celebrating in half an hour.

“She have learnt a lot from today. She might go to Galway and could come back here for the Grade 3 novice race.”
