Beginning on the all-weather on start number four Ballydoyle’s Baton Rouge (5/4 favourite) was impressive in the Join Us On Instagram @dundalk_stadium Maiden.
A brother to the top-class Magician, Baton Rouge was here equipped with a first-time tongue-strap as Seamie Heffernan took the reins on the 87-rated three-year-old.
Fresh off their treble at Naas on Sunday, Aidan O’Brien and Heffernan continued the forward momentum here with Baton Rouge beating Golden Lyric by four and three parts of a length.
Ger Lyons supplied the third and fourth home, Holly Golightly and Princess Plumeria whilst the gambled-on Ebasari could manage only seventh.
Baton Rouge was always to the fore before asserting towards the near side in the final furlong for a comfortable win.
“He's very well-bred and didn't put a foot wrong. He's stronger this year,” said Heffernan.
“He skipped along on the surface. Those Galileos can keep going up in trip and he did it well.”
