Obligation gets punters off to right start at Tipp
Obligation backed from 2/1 this morning and even higher in a place into even money favourite for the Athassel House Stud European Breeders Fund Maiden, justified that confidence making all to win convincingly by three lengths under Joseph O'Brien.
O'Brien, now six behind Gary Carroll and Ben Curtis in the race to be champion apprentice, was one of five to break from stalls on Obligation in a false start as the other gates failed to open. However the five jockeys that broke quickly realised the situation and the race got away just five minutes later.
Obligation looked a winner from before the straight and try as Tiz The Shot did up the straight he was never going to get there.
Joseph O'Brien said: "I heard the lads that were left shout and I saw the flag up so I realised pretty much straight away that it was a false start."
