Trainer Ado McGuinness completed a 1-2 in Dundalk's Haughain Solicitors Handicap today, with Pierre Lapin beating stablemate Cordouan by the narrowest of margins.
Ridden by Adam Caffrey, Pierre Lapin passed the post alongside Cordouan, with a nose subsequently separating the pair, to provide the winner with a third career success.
McGuinness, whose A Case Of You disappointed in Sunday's Prix de l'Abbaye defence, said “it's been a long time coming with this fella (Pierre Lapin) and I thought he was after being beaten again.
“I'm delighted with the two horses, they've both ran crackers and the two apprentices (Caffrey and Cordouan's rider Cian MacRedmond) gave them both great rides. They didn't go a mad gallop, in all fairness to this horse he just stays and gallops. He did it well.
“He's been running consistently well all year in some big premier handicaps and he's a good horse. He's after booking his ticket for another year in the place.
“Cordouan is a smashing horse, he's very green but he'll be fine.”
