The valuable Irish EBF Auction Series Race Final, worth 72,000 Euros to the winner, went to Panic Alarm (4/1) who completed a quick double for Jessica Harrington and Shane Foley after Polar Bear in the second.

A maiden winner at Down Royal last month, the Kuroshio gelding was ridden along behind the leaders from two furlongs out and picked up well when he met the rising ground to catch front-runner Goa Gajah Two lengths was the winning margin with 7/2 favourite Lord Massusus who had every chance, another half a length back in third.

Harrington said: “They went a million and Shane said he was going as fast as he could off such a strong pace.

“Two furlongs down I thought he had no chance but Shane said he hadn’t really gone for him. He’s still very green and hung in behind but he did it well in the end.”
