In From The Cold (9/1) landed the Leopardstown AutumnFest Handicap in the hands of 7lb claimer Wesley Joyce.
The Alhebayeb gelding improved from mid-division in the final quarter of a mile and struck the front in the final hundred yards. He stayed on well to beat Dream Tale (5/1) and 9/2 favourite He Knows No Fear by half a length and the same.
It was a first win of the season, on his thirteenth outing, for the 4-year-old who has won five times in all now.
Winning trainer Michael Mulvany said: "I have him declared for Monday (over hurdles at Wexford) and we have schooled him a little bit.
“It's the first time all year that the handicapper gave him a little bit of a chance. He definitely is a horse that needs a bit more give in the ground, that's just good out there.
“I'll have to make up my mind now whether we run on Monday or not but knowing me he probably will.
“He's a good hardy bit of stuff. He might just need the experience on Monday, we haven't over schooled him but we've schooled him alright because the handicapper wasn't giving him a chance and we said we'd see how we go over hurdles.
“I think he could make a nice hurdler, he's a good honest horse.”
