Mountmills was the sixth horse at Dundalk this evening to lose it's maiden status, winning the 12th July Marshes Shopping Centre Dual Race Day Handicap at 16/1 for his trainer Anthony Mulholland and jockey Declan McDonogh.
The winner was getting his head in front for the first time at the ninth attempt and afterwards Co Cavan trainer Mulholland stated "his full-sister Juara won three for us and she seemed to appreciate stepping up in trip. I wasn't sure about him getting the mile-and-a-half as he has a bit more speed.
"He's going the right way and we'll look for something similar on the turf around this trip.
"He's named after the owner Jim Magill's Flax Oil company Mount Mills."
