The 3/1 favourite Mousey Brown landed the Cooke's Bar & Restaurant Caragh Handicap Chase in the hands of Paddy O'Hanlon.
A dual hurdles winner in March, the Califet mare took full advantage of her much lower chase mark and hit the front before the last to beat Optional Mix by three and a quarter lengths.
Dermot McLoughlin, who trains the winner for Alan Smith, said: “She’s done it well and Paddy said she enjoyed herself. They went a good gallop which suited as she stays well.
“She warmed into. She hasn’t run over fences for a while and they come up here quick and fast on the bends. He said she came alive three out.
“She’s a consistent mare and has won five now so hopefully it’s onwards and upwards.
“She’s a big strong mare and has won on all types of ground.
“We’d think about the Midlands National here if she could sneak into it. All she does is gallop and stay.”
