The 11/4 favourite Clonguile Way was travelling best before the home straight in the St. Patrick’s Bridge Handicap Hurdle and quickly went clear after hitting the front before the second last.
He stayed on well to win eased down by nine lengths from Lisavalley Lass (7/2) with Esthers Marvel back in third.
Gavin Cromwell ’s 7-year-old was raised to a mark of 98 after getting off the mark over fences at Punchestown earlier in the month and capitalised on a much lower hurdles rating here.
It was a first winner back for Jonathan Moore (14th of the season, all of them for Cromwell) after his return from injury earlier in the week.
"He is a bit of a monkey this lad, he can be on and off the bridle,” said Moore.
“ The only time I came on the bridle was turning in and I didn't want to disappoint him then so I let him go forward and thankfully he stayed well.
“He stays well and loves that ground.
“Thankfully it worked out today but he wouldn't be the most reliable."
