Mazara proves game in front
Mazara produced a fine front-running performance to land the 2m4f maiden hurdle at Clonmel.
Andrew McNamara 's mount had plenty of challengers as he went to the second last.
He got the last wrong but found plenty for pressure on the run-in to hold the late challenge of Pozyc by half a length.
There was only a neck back to the third, The Cockney Squire with the same distance back to the fourth Lascalahall
"He's consistent and is progressing. He's a fine big horse and the better ground suited. There might be more to come from him," said winning trainer Tim Doyle.
"Andrew gave him a lovely ride. He could do with company and idled a bit in front but he said there was plenty in the tank.
"We'll probably go the handicap direction and he might go back on the Flat somewhere along the line."
