There was a dream start to jockey Cian Macredmond's career as he guided home Sweetest Taboo in the five-furlong handicap in the Curragh.
Willie McCreery 's six-year-old mare travelled strongly in a prominent position and held a definite advantage over a furlong out.
She only had to be pushed out in the closing stages by Macredmond to win by a length at 6/1. Polly Douglas (6/1) chased her home with Battleroftheboyne (16/1) in third, a couple of lengths further back.
Another 6/1 chance, Its All For Luck completed the placings in fourth.
Cian Macredmond said: "It means a lot to me, I've been with Willie (McCreery) for four years and he has been good to me. It was my first ride at my local track and all my family and friends are here so that made it that extra bit special.
"She broke out really well and she stayed straight the whole way and I was always happy with her. I was just lucky that the lads behind me didn't catch me.
"I'm going into sixth year now so that will be my main focus - my leaving cert.
"I can claim 10lbs off 8st 11lbs.
Willie McCreery added: "That's Cian's first ride. He was 16 in May and has been riding out for me since he was 13. His dad Mark is a partner in the Anglesey Lodge Equine Hospital.
"He's going back to school in a few weeks. He's very tall and I said that I'd give him a few rides before he gets too big."
