Ludo Et Emergo bounced back to his best as he got the better of Page Turner in the Liam Hogan Memorial Handicap Chase.

The Andrew Lee trained gelding impressed when winning over the course and distance in April of last year but he failed to follow-up in four starts since.

Making his handicap debut this afternoon he was sent off at 10/1 with Robbie Colgan in the saddle.

Having raced mainly in second he improved to challenge the front-running Page Turner from six out.

The duo went head to head from there with Ludo Et Emergo battling gamely on the run-in to prevail by a length.

Page Turner, who was sent off the 11/4 favourite, had to settle for second under Ambrose McCurtin for John Joe Walsh while Draycott Place (7/2) was a further five lengths back in third under Ryan Treacy for John Ryan.

The winner is owned by Limerick Institute of Technology President Dr Maria Hinfelaar.
