After finishing second on the Flat in the day two finale last night, locally-trained mare Loudest Whisper (9/1) returned to Bellewstown to land the Bar One Racing 'Putting The Customer First' Handicap Hurdle.

Trained in nearby Laytown by Eamonn Delany, ably assisted by his son Alan, the hardy daughter of Maxios was given a very patient steer by 5lb claimer Jordan Gainsford who produced her to head the 9/2 favourite Rare Conor at the last.

The 6-year-old galloped on to beat the market leader by a length and a quarter, with Dedanann (12/1) another length and three quarters away in third.

It was her second win over hurdles after winning at Galway last summer, and she also won on the level at Fairyhouse last year.

For a mare that likes a bit of ease in the ground, the arrival of a few showers during racing was very timely.

The Delanys are long-standing members of the racecourse committee at Bellewstown.

Alan Delaney remarked: "Jordan Gainford did a great job. I saw that man point-to-pointing over the last year or two and I always thought he was very professional how he did things. I just said to Gary (Cribbin, agent) when he turned with him 'I could be looking for that man in Bellewstown'. The plan came off.

"We'll possibly go to Galway, she won in Galway last year and then hopefully come back here in August. It's a bit up in the air what she will go for in Galway, but it will be one of the hurdle races.

"She has run six times here in Bellewstown and she has been third three times, second two times and won. You have to keep coming back."
