Wayne Lordan and Precious Stone bossed things from the front in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Fillies Race and held on to prevail by three parts of a length at Dundalk.
Equipped with cheek-pieces for the first-time, the victorious Galileo filly got a tactically astute ride from Lordan, who stole a decisive advantage when quickening things from the two furlong pole.
Try as they might, her rivals couldn't bridge the gap and Typhoon Lily did best of the rest, running a 'stormer' for one of such little experience to take the runner-up berth.
Lordan said of the Michael Tabor-owned, David Wachman-trained winner: "She did it well giving weight away all round. You'd have to be happy with that."
Wachman meanwhile reported by phone: "Wayne gave her a very good ride and he steadied things up from the front. She's a grand filly and we'll aim her at Listed and Group races. She likes good ground."
The favourite here, Infanta Branca is owned by Michael Tabor, Derrick Smith and Mrs John Magnier.
Joseph O'Brien 's mount, headed the market here for Ballydoyle, after a juvenile campaign that saw her display plenty of promise. However she began her 'classic campaign' here in disappointing fashion, eventually coming home last of the six. (AM & EM)
