The feature race of the evening at Kilbeggan, the Westmeath Hurdle of €15,000, went to the Noel Meade trained, Paul Carberry ridden London Bridge who was sent off the 6/4 favourite.
The 5yo son of Beat Hollow was recording his third win of the year having won his maiden hurdle at Bellewstown in July before following up in a conditions hurdle at Downpatrick Wins Now led for much of the race but was ridden and headed after the second last by Trendelenburg But his lead was short lived as the winner soon took over approaching the last before asserting on the run-in to score by three lengths.
Trendelenburg plugged on to take second at 11/4 while Brave Beauty finished out of the placings a further three lengths back in third at 7/2.
Winning trainer Noel Meade said afterwards: "It just worked out exactly the way I thought it would. Although it don’t always work that way. I thought he would have to much pace for them and if he stayed that he would win. Obviously he stays well.
"I suppose all going well we will go to Listowel with him now and he will keep on the go for as long as the ground stays fast."
