Harvey Logan battled gamely to land the spoils in the St Johann Ski Resort Tirol Handicap Hurdle at Navan.

Niall Madden produced the 6/4 favourite to challenge before the last but he had to pull out plenty to follow up on his victory at Naas. Luddsdenene and Mind The Pennies were upsides the favourite as the trio jumped the last together.

Harvey Logan stuck his head out on the run-in to score by three-parts from Mind The Pennies with Luddsdenene a length-and-three-quarters back in third.

“That's just about what he is. The handicapper put him up 8lb and that nearly put him out. He just got there and I couldn't see him carrying much more,” said Meade.

“He needed to stay at the end and he did. He also needed a good jump at the last and got it.

“He's won over 2m3f and could go 2m4f anyway. We don't have any fancy ideas with him.”
