The Maggie May's Pub Handicap Hurdle at Wexford went in fortuitous circumstances to local connections, owner/breeder Jim Mernagh and trainer Paul Nolan with Lady Of The Sea (7/1). Something Sweet and Can't Be Done chased home at distances of two and a quarter lengths and six and a half lengths, but it'd have been a different story had leader Epsilon Indi not come down at the last when looking a definite winner.
Thankfully Epsilon Indi and Danny Mullins were up okay afterwards
"Sure she was lucky. She had hit the crossbar a bit, and sure we'll take the lucky ones," said Nolan's brother James in the aftermath.
"Bryan (Cooper) rode her to be placed and I think that's the way it suits her to be ridden. She doesn't really travel, she was on it and off it, and that's her. She got her day and she'll probably go for something similar now in a few weeks time."
P.D. Kennedy, rider of Whats Your Beef trained by Michael G. Kennedy, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount sustained a cut to a hind leg and pulled up.
