Lios overcomes Thurles misfortune
The opening Marge Browne Memorial Maiden Hurdle at Navan today went to the Willie Mullins trained Lios A Choill under the trainer’s son Patrick.
Mullins Jnr produced Lios A Choill with perfect timing to lead before the final flight and stayed on well to hold Jetson on the run-in. Bog Warrior fell at the final flight when beaten in third.
Afterwards Mullins Snr’s representative Harold Kirk mentioned “Lios A Choill was obviously unlucky when he fell (when clear at the final flight) at Thurles the last day and is a great looking horse who will jump a fence in time. He has loads of gears, should have a big future and will be better on better ground.”
