Liberty To Rock bounces back
Liberty To Rock (7/1) bounced back to form under Chris Hayes to win a driving finish to the one mile www.dundalkstadium.com handicap by a neck from Heroine Chic (12/1) and Lago Indiano (25/1) who dead-heated for second.
The Stewards received a report from Mr Andrew McKeever, Turf Club Judge, that he called a visual result for this race as there was no suitable print following a malfunction which caused the photo finish camera to stall. He added that the camera operator identified the problem and has carried out the necessary repair.
The five-year-old gelding Liberty To Rock had won over course and distance two runs back before subsequently disappointing over the same trip here in September when coming home 12th of 14 runners.
Trainer Jim Gorman said: “He’s tough and likes it here. He’ll stay here for the winter and compete in those types of races. The owners – the Foley’s from Wexford – are great supporters of mine.” Anna Montana was sent off the 9/4 favourite, but she finished seventh after fading in the final furlong.
Money came for Jim Bolger’s Naoise (10/1 to 6/1), however he finished 12th of the 14 runner field.
Michael Graham
