Billy Lee cut Colin Keane's lead in the jockeys' championship to three winners after he scored on Drummin Life in Gowran Park's fillies' maiden.

The 15/8 favourite rewarded late support by a healthy three and a quarter lengths.

The Gleneagles filly tracked front-running Water Nymph in third and travelled well into contention straightening for home.

Drummin Life was pushed along to lead two furlongs from home and she readily asserted in the final furlong for a decisive success. Water Nymph (6/1) kept on in a clear second and finished six and a half lengths in front of Jeaniemacaroney (11/2).

Willie McCreery said: “I'm delighted to get her to win. I probably ran in the wrong race the last day down in Thurles, she did nothing wrong.

“Billy gave her a lovely ride. It's the first foal out of the mare (Enjoy Life), who I trained for Frank (Fahy). She got injured after finishing second for me, so I'm delighted this filly has won for the Fahys.

“That's her for the year now. She's a grand filly and Billy said she was just idling there in front, she did everything lovely.

“Billy said she'll go on any ground and that she'd come on a ton from that again.

“I was a bit worried in the parade ring as that was the lightest she looked all year, so it's good that she's going on a break now.”

Keane is on 85 winners to Lee's 82.
