Tynamite (18/1) got up in the final stride to take the second division of Download The Bar One Racing App Handicap.
It was a cruel defeat for connections of runner-up True Conviction (15/2) who had set out to make all from stall seventeen. The blinkered 3-year-old looked to have seen off all challengers until veering left and losing momentum in the final fifty yards.
Tynamite lunged late under Oisin Orr to win by a head, with the slow-starting International Lady (16/1) running on well for third place, another three quarters of a length away.
All four career wins for Tynamite have come off marks in the 40s at Dundalk, with this being the furthest distance over which he has been successful.
Winning trainer David Marnane said: “He ran well in Gowran (fifth) the last day. We were a bit worried about the trip but they went steady which probably helped. He has to be ridden cold and Oisin is on the top of his game and gave him a great ride.
“We may move him on and, if not, he’ll be back here for the winter. The (Tynamite) Syndicate are from Dublin and a couple of them are in Dubai.”
