Ten Times Better made the breakthrough at the sixth attempt when taking the concluding bumper at Clonmel today.
Pat Fahy's charge had been in the money in all of her previous five starts and gained a deserved success in the two-miler.
Katie Walsh had the 7/2 to the fore throughout. Outsider Gowenwithdflow raced up to dispute after half a mile but dropped away six furlongs from home.
Ten Times Better kept on strongly in the straight to record a two-and-a-half length success over Glendine River
Well-supported favourite Blazes Peg (2/1 from 7/1 this morning) made little impression in fifth.
"She's a tough filly and had a brilliant first run but then kept meeting good horses. The experience paid off today though and Katie was able to kick three times and also give her three breathers," said Fahy.
"She jumps well and her mother (Allaboveboard) was also unreal to jump. She picks up her bonus today and things like that will help keep people in the game and make these mares valuable. She is a full sister to Stack The Deck but we were unfortunate with him."
It concluded a good day for the Walsh family. Katie's brother Ruby had recorded a double on the card and had teamed up with their father Ted to complete the brace on Old Castletown
