Everlastingpromise put in a decent round of jumping to score at the tenth time of asking in the Tickincor Handicap Chase at Clonmel.
Trained by Enda Bolger for JP McManus, the Arcadio gelding was sent over fences in recent months and finished in mid-division on his handicap debut at Killarney last time.
Donie McInerney had the five-year-old close to the pace throughout and he galloped on strongly in the straight to score at odds of 7/1.
Bective Cave was bidding for a hat-trick following hurdle wins at Down Royal and Ballinrobe but the 11/10 favourite could make no headway from two out finishing seven and a half lengths back in second.
Kavanaghs Corner weakened in the straight to finish 25 lengths further back in third.
Bolger said, "That was nice and his jumping is his forte and we didn't want any more juice in the ground.
"Those fellows (of sire Arcadio) with their style of running they are good jumpers and quick. He'll probably get enough for winning that and he could be going down the cross-country route later on."
